Zugerberg
When were you last on the Zugerberg? This wonderful view over Zug - above the fog of course - is not only for the tourists: even the local residents never fail to be astonished at the attractiveness of their local mountain both in summer and winter.
Winter For active sportsmen and women the trendy sport, snowshoe walking, is the thing. Shoes can be hired directly from the Restaurant Hintergeissboden on the Zugerberg or from various sports shops in town. Visitors can also enjoy the cross-country trails for both classic and skating skiing. There is even a practice slope with drag-lift for children. Non-skiers just come along to enjoy nature and breathe in some fresh air on the four well-kept winter walking paths. In the evening the Zugerberg is very romantic: a fondue and Zug Kirsch will warm your heart too.

Summer 80 kilometres of signposted footpaths take you across protected high moorland with its variety of flora and fauna. Numerous barbecue areas are there for your use, and the well-known sculpture trail with lots of animals carved out of wood damaged by the Lothar hurricane, are just some of the attractions - and the paths are very suitable for prams. Don't miss the wonderful adventure playground "Schattwäldli" - the ideal place for fun and action for the whole family. The wonderful views from the Zugerberg stretch as far as the Alps. Leave the daily routine behind, come and relax with a glass of wine and let your spirit wander.

Every time of year is right for the Zugerberg: in autumn the sun over the sea of fog, in winter tobogganing, cross-country skiing for adults and downhill for children: in spring and summer wonderful walks in the idyllic natural countryside and the beautiful sunsets.
