Cherries for Zug
Cherry trees in blossom, juicy cherries on the trees, aromatic Kirsch and the well-known Zug Kirsch cake - those are the true symbols of Zug! Or is our town only known as a tax haven? Then we need to correct our image immediately!

The common-interest group known as ZUGER CHRIESI launched the project "1000 cherry trees for Zug". The group is part of the local organisation WE ARE ZUG, and are committed to turning the town of Zug back into a cherry town and the Canton back into a cherry Canton.

Is your curiosity aroused? Then please read more about the detailed concept of the project and fill in the form to become a sponsor today!

Cherry sausage: a new delicacy from Zug
When the IG ZUGER CHRIESI launched in summer 2009 a sausage with cherries, it was big and - for many - surprising news. But the cherry sausage has already established it's place on the market: In the year 2010 the butcher shop Rinderli, who produces the sausage, has sold it over 32'000 times! So the cherry sausage has become a regional delicacy in an astonishing short time.

You can order the sausage from the butcher shop Rinderli:

"Zuger Chriesiwurst" on World Radio Switzerland
A sausage with cherries? Radio Switzerland visited Marcel Rinderli's butcher shop in Zug and tasted the local speciality "Zuger Chriesiwurst". And yes, it tastes good! Click here and listen:  Food Scout: Zug cherry sausages (5.33 MB) © WRS
