High above the Aegeri valley looking down to Zugerland and Lake Zurich, the Raten - Gottschalkenberg region offers relaxation and fantastic panoramic views.
Restaurant Raten is best as a starting point, and is easily accessible by public transport. From Zug, you take bus No. 1 to its terminus in Oberägeri and then change to No. 10, which drops you off right at Raten. From there you have various possibilities for circular walking tours. The walk to the restaurant Gottschalkenberg is very popular, and then on to the vantage point to enjoy a fantastic view of Lake Zurich. One way can easily be done in an hour.
