Visit the first Dufour Museum in Switzerland! Here the life and work of General Guillaume-Henri Dufour (1787-1875) is widely documented, in particular his deployment in the federal battle of 1847 as well as his work as cartographer.
Among other exhibits, the famous Dufour map is on show (Switzerland on the scale of 1:100 000) on a platform made out of 25 small tables. The bunker next to the Dufour Museum is particularly interesting for the like-minded: here the fortification itself is the main feature and the rooms are laid out as if they were still in use. An eye-catcher is the canons from the forties over which Landolt strokes his finger as he passes.
